Yasemin Yılmaz moved to Milan in 2012 to pursue her passion for design, shortly after graduating from the prestigious Galileo Galilei Italian High School in Istanbul. She completed her undergraduate degree in Interior Design and Product Design at the world-renowned NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti), and later earned her Master’s in Exhibition Design from Politecnico di Milano in 2015.
Being immersed in Milan’s rich design culture throughout her education and early career gave Yasemin more than just a strong aesthetic sensibility — it also shaped her strategic and analytical thinking.
She began her professional journey at Emporio Casa, then continued as an experienced interior designer at two of Italy’s most prestigious furniture brands: Bredaquaranta and Roche Bobois. In 2021, she joined Fendi Casa’s flagship store in Milan as a senior design and sales consultant. She was later promoted to store manager, overseeing VIP client relations and leading responsibilities in interior design consulting, project management, and customer experience.
Having managed her entire educational and professional path independently, Yasemin gained first-hand insight into the real needs and challenges faced by individuals trying to build a new life in Italy. To her, living in Italy is not just about finding a beautiful home — it’s about accessing the right connections, navigating official processes smoothly, creating spaces that reflect one’s personal style, and integrating into the local culture.
These experiences and insights were the inspiration behind the founding of MYST.
Established by Yasemin Yılmaz, MYST is a multidisciplinary consultancy platform that builds a bridge between Istanbul and Milan, combining relocation services, interior design consultancy, and business development under one roof.
